Whether you've just got a PlayStation 4, have had
one whirring away for the past two years or
you're contemplating a PS4 Neo upgrade for PlayStation VR, you might not
know all the handy features that your Sony console boasts.
We've hunted down all the top PS4 tips and tricks that will
help you get the best from your console, regardless of how long you've had
it.
How to download games on your PS4 remotely
If you spot a tasty PSN deal and want to treat yourself
to a brand new AAA or an indie, you don't have to wait until you get
home. Wherever you happen to be you can download it to your PS4
before you've even got your keys in the front door.
Head to the PlayStation Store on your mobile or laptop,
purchase your selected content and then navigate to the Download List page
under your account in the top right hand corner of the site.
From here you can download your new purchase, along with
anything you've ever bought ever on PSN, and get it ready to play as soon as
you get in – provided your PS4 is on Standby Mode and not completely
turned off.
How to save your DualShock 4 battery life
One of the worst things about the PS4 is the battery life of
the DualShock 4 controller. You won't get more than a few hours of gaming out
of the pad, and unless you've got two, you'll end up spending half the time
with your controller plugged in. Not quite what you expected for next-gen
gaming, right?
Well, there is a way to get more gaming action out of a
single charge by turning down the brightness of the light bar on the
front. Head to Settings > Devices > Controllers> Brightness and
then set it to the lowest brightness settings to increase your DualShock 4's
battery life significantly.
